How March 2027 scores in Las Vegas

  • Overall score

    8*/10 (provisional) 8*/10 Excellent

The main score for Las Vegas in March 2027, from 1 to 10, where 10 is best for the visitor. Weather counts for 40%, crowds 25%, daylight 10% and uniqueness 25%. Air quality is shown on its own. How we score

Overall 8*/10: (0.4×10 + 0.25×5 + 0.1×7) ÷ 0.75 = 5.95 ÷ 0.75 = 7.93 → 8. *From three of the four aspects: uniqueness is not measured for this month, so the other three aspects' weights are scaled to add up to 1.

  • Weather

Weather 10/10: the average high is 71.1 °F with 10.7 mm of rain (1991–2020 normals, NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI)). That high is inside the 70–86 °F comfort band, so only rain lowers the score.

When to go

March is a mild spring month in Las Vegas, and NOAA's climate normals for the airport station, listed in the facts, show warm afternoons and cool nights, so pack layers. The Mountain West Basketball Championships fill the Thomas & Mack Center in the first half of the month, Henderson's St. Patrick's Day Festival and Parade is scheduled for the weekend that closes the tournament, and the NASCAR race weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway follows a week later, so check those dates against your trip if you want to join in or avoid the crowds.

Flights

Compare flights into Harry Reid International Airport, where the airport says ride share pick-up is inside the parking garages. The airport also says the Monorail does not serve it, so plan your first leg to the Strip separately. The TSA's REAL ID page says travelers must be REAL ID compliant to board domestic flights, so check your identification before you leave. Check the airlines directly for current flight and route information.

Where to stay

Compare staying on the Strip with staying Downtown, weighing the walk to a Monorail station or a Deuce stop against how much time you plan to spend at your resort. If your dates overlap the Mountain West tournament or the NASCAR weekend, check availability and cancellation terms early. The Federal Trade Commission says lodging prices must show the total including mandatory fees up front, so compare the total shown rather than the nightly rate.

Getting around

The Monorail links MGM Grand at the south end of the Strip with SAHARA at the north end, and the RTC's Deuce bus serves the Strip and Downtown around the clock. The RTC says visitors must pay the Strip and All Access fares, so check its fares page before you board. The Monorail's route ends at MGM Grand and SAHARA, so check how you will reach events away from that corridor, such as Henderson's festival or the speedway, before you plan a day around them.
