How we compare

How each trip page chooses the travel companies it links to, and how we source and date its facts. For the destination scores, see how we score.

The sections of a trip page

Every trip page has the same 6 sections, in this order:

  1. Flights
  2. Where to stay
  3. Getting around
  4. Things to do
  5. Stay connected
  6. Protect the trip

Each section gives tips for that part of the trip. It links to at most one travel company: the first one in our list for that part of a trip whose affiliate program has accepted us. For things to do, a company that can link straight to the destination comes first. A section with no accepted company shows its tips without a link. The insurance section shows tips only, with no link, for now.

The partner cards

Below the sections, a trip page can list our travel partners: every company whose affiliate program has accepted us, grouped by places to stay, flights and things to do, and trip essentials. The order within each group is fixed by us and is the same on every page. It is not a ranking of price or quality.

Not every company is shown

We link only to companies whose affiliate programs have accepted us, so many companies that sell the same things never appear. Where a company appears is not a statement that it is cheaper or better than one that doesn't.

Does pay affect what you see?

It can. Which company a section shows can depend on which programs have accepted us and what they pay. The company you book with sets the price, and we do not add anything to it. How we are paid is in our affiliate disclosure.
