Environment and Climate Change Canada's most recent normals for the airport station list mild days, cool evenings and several days with measurable rain, so pack a light layer and check the forecast close to your dates. Destination Vancouver lists the Vancouver International Jazz Festival from late June into July, with stages across the city's neighbourhoods, and Bard on the Beach at Vanier Park, which runs from June through September.

The Government of Canada says US nationals don't need a visa or an electronic travel authorization to enter Canada and recommends that American citizens always travel with a valid passport. For US government guidance, see the State Department's page for Canada. On the way home, U.S. Customs and Border Protection runs Preclearance at Vancouver International Airport, so you clear US inspections before you board; check its hours against your flight.
