Singapore in January
When to go
The Meteorological Service Singapore describes the Northeast Monsoon wet phase as usually running into early January, followed by a windy, relatively dry phase from late January, so the month can feel like two seasons. New Year's Day is on the Ministry of Manpower's public holiday list, and the National Arts Council gives dates for the next Singapore Art Week, so check its programme for the days you will be in town.

Before you fly, read the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority's entry requirements, which cover passport validity and the SG Arrival Card, and its visa page to check whether you need a visa. Its list of prohibited, controlled and dutiable goods is worth reading before you pack, since it names items such as electronic cigarettes and vaporisers. See the State Department's page for Singapore as well, and check the airlines directly for current flight and route information.
