Flights
Greece's official tourism site lists flights from Athens International Airport to Santorini Airport, so compare connections through Athens with the time you want to land. The EU's official travel site lists Greece among the countries using the Entry/Exit System and says ETIAS is not yet in operation, so recheck both pages and the State Department's page for Greece before you fly. If you arrive by cruise ship, the Ministry of Tourism announced a per-passenger fee at Santorini that varies by month, so ask your cruise line how it is charged.

Where to stay
Greece's official tourism site names Oia and Fira as the island's historic settlements and says you can stay in the caldera, so compare those areas by view and by distance to the places you plan to visit. If you book a short-term rental, check how Greece's climate crisis resilience fee applies to your nights, since the housing policy portal lists a higher rate for rentals in the summer months. Then check cancellation terms before you commit.
