Punta Cana in March

When to go

The tourism board's most pleasant stretch of weather runs through early March, and March is still inside Punta Cana's driest season and peak season. Easter and Christmas are the biggest Dominican holidays, so check the Labor Ministry's holiday dates for the year you travel before you settle on a week. The weather office's March figures still list some rain days, so a light rain layer is worth packing.

Bávaro is the area the tourism board calls the main resort area, with expansive beaches and beachfront hotels, and Cap Cana is where it places the marina and the Hoyo Azul cenote. Compare areas by beach, distance from the airport and the activities each property says it offers. March is peak season, so choose the area first and then compare dates.
