When to go

The national weather institute's climate normals for the Porto / Pedras Rubras station, listed in the facts, give the usual May highs, lows and rainfall, and an average May still has several rain days, so pack for showers. Portugal's Labour Code lists the first of May among its mandatory holidays, and also Corpus Christi, which the list gives without a date, so check which holidays fall on your dates.
