When to go

March comes before the rainy season, which the city's official visitor guide says begins in May, and the climate normals below give the typical highs, lows and rainfall for the month. The third Monday of March is a mandatory rest day under Mexican federal labor law, so check opening hours and tour schedules around it. The visitor guide places the Vive Latino music festival at the Foro Sol in mid-March and says the city is practically empty during Holy Week and Easter, so check where those fall against your dates.
