When to go

The WMO climate table, supplied by Colombia's national meteorological institute, shows Medellín's July temperatures and rainfall, with rain on many days of the month, so pack for showers. Colombian law makes the twentieth of July a paid holiday, so check opening hours and transport around it. The Feria de las Flores is in August, but the city's official guide shows its program opening at the end of July, so check the dates; if your trip misses it, the guide says you can visit silletero farms that keep the flower tradition alive.
