February is outside the official Atlantic hurricane season and sits in the winter-and-spring stretch that the Florida Keys tourism site calls the most popular for visiting. The island's calendar is busy mid-month with the Florida Keys Seafood Festival and the Home Tours, followed by the Art & Craft Festival at Truman Waterfront Park.
