When to go

June falls inside the Atlantic hurricane season, which the National Hurricane Center dates from the start of June to the end of November, with most activity from mid-August to mid-October, so follow its advisories before and during your trip. The Bermuda Weather Service's long-term averages above give June's highs, lows, rainfall and rain days to weigh against the beach days you have in mind. National Heroes Day is a public holiday in June, so check the government's list for the date in your year.

Getting around

The Bermuda Tourism Authority says there are no conventional car rentals on the island, so compare buses, ferries, taxis and electric car rentals, and remember that Bermudians drive on the left. Most buses leave from the Central Terminal in Hamilton and the ferries from the Front Street terminal, and the government's Shorelink app sells tokens, tickets and passes. Taxis are metered at rates fixed by the government and cost more overnight and on Sundays and public holidays, so allow for that on holiday weekends.
